LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Tuesday's Jefferson County Public School board meeting was a special one as it was Dr. Marty Pollio's last one with the district.

Several people gave him praise for how he handled several issues during his time as superintendent.

"He's a problem solver," JCPS board member Linda Duncan said. "He came in, he saw the problems first hand as a person, an employee of the district, and he approached everything with trying to solve these problems, and I greatly appreciated that he's changed the whole landscape of JCPS as far as I'm concerned."

Pollio was named superintendent in 2017. His last day with the district is July 1, and he will immediately start as Ivy Tech Community College's new president.
