LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools decided for Non-Traditional Instruction on Wednesday for the second-straight day amid severe winter weather in Louisville.
"Due to forecasted frigid temperatures for the early morning hours, Wednesday, Jan. 17 is an NTI day for JCPS students and staff," JCPS posted on X. "All extracurricular and athletic activities are canceled for Wednesday. Staff and families should check their email for more information."
Temperatures are expected to range from single digits to the teens from Monday through Wednesday, and wind chills are expected to get below zero.
JCPS spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said students and families received school-specific NTI plans last week.
The state's largest school district decided to utilize NTI on Tuesday due to road conditions and frigid temperatures. All extracurricular and athletic activities were canceled.
