JCPS school bus

JCPS students get off school bus.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) decided for Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) for Tuesday amid severe winter weather in Louisville.

"Due to road conditions in some parts of the county and frigid temperatures, Tuesday, Jan. 16 is an NTI day for JCPS students & staff," JCPS posted on X. "All extracurricular & athletic activities are canceled for Tuesday."

Temperatures are expected to range from single digits to the teens from Monday through Wednesday, and wind chills are expected to get below zero.

JCPS spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said students and families received school-specific NTI plans last week.
