LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An elementary school in Louisville's Highview neighborhood was named in a nationwide honor as a distinguished school.
The National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators selected Luhr Elementary School for its exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years. The elementary school on Fegenbush Lane was one of 65 schools nationwide honored during a national conference on Feb. 7-10.Â
Another school in Kentucky, Hunter Hills Elementary School in Laurel County, was recognized for excellence in serving special populations of students.
According to a news release Wednesday, NAESPA is dedicated to building the capacity of education professionals to provide disadvantaged children with a high-quality education.Â
