LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools held a baby shower on Saturday in the Algonquin neighborhood.
JCPS Resource and Youth Service Centers hosted its clothing assistance program at McFerran Preparatory Academy. All expectant mothers or those who had babies in the last year were invited in for food, resources and fun.
More than 200 families registered for the event.
"We have lots of families that may have never had the opportunity to have a baby shower," said Rebecca Johns, JCPS family resource coordinator. "We also have a significant number of families that said this is something they need. They need help with resources for their baby."
Vendors were also on hand to provide more resources and items like clothes, diapers and baby supplies.
