LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Black Legislative Caucus will host its third Black History Celebration event Thursday, Feb. 19, at Kentucky State University, where students will discuss education, careers, and the Black experience in higher education.

Two student panels will take the stage — one featuring voices from universities across the state, and another focusing on experiences at KSU.

Senate Democratic Floor Leader Gerald A. Neal, a KBLC member and lead organizer, said the event aims to showcase student perspectives and spark discussion on how education shapes future Black leaders in Kentucky.

Dr. Aaron Thompson, president of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, will moderate the panels and guide conversations about college access, opportunities, and challenges students face.

The event is open to the public. Attendees should use KSU’s main campus entrance at 400 E. Main St. in Frankfort.

The Black History Speaker Series concludes Feb. 26 with a history-focused panel and remarks from Vincent Evans, executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus.
