LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Simmons College in Louisville is expanding thanks to the donation of an old church.
The Archdiocese of Louisville plans to donate Christ the King Parish on 44th Street.
College leaders said they're still working to determine the best use for the space. They want to expand academic programming, create more learning spaces, and explore new opportunities to engage with the surrounding neighborhoods.
Simmons College of Kentucky is one of only two Historically Black Colleges & Universities in the state.
An official announcement for the donation is scheduled for Friday.
