Generic Classroom

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Oldham County School Board unanimously rejected an application by a company that would provide religious instruction to students during the school day.

Right now, school districts have the option to not allow students to be released from school for programs, like LifeWise, which focuses on Bible-based character education.

The program would pull students from special area classes, like art, music, or physical education.

Board members unanimously rejected the proposal, voicing concerns about logistical issues like getting separate groups of students in and out of class to attend the program's religious instruction.

The Attorney General said the board must submit evidence for its decision.
