LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky's school report card was released this week, and one local district had some of the best performing schools in the state.

Oldham County's middle and high schools received blue overall performance ratings, which is the highest performance level.

The elementary schools received green performance ratings, the second-highest level.

In addition to high scores in math and reading, schools saw growth in science, social studies and writing.

"We're very fortunate to have a school board that is committed to our teachers' success," Dr. Dylan Smith, assistant superintendent of Oldham County Schools, said. "They have invested heavily in competitive salaries in our region and also making sure that schools have the staffing that they need to meet the needs of their students."

District leaders said the work doesn't stop when the state tests are over. They are always pouring resources into instructional strategies and curriculum, with a focus on investing in math after the COVID-19 pandemic, and elementary level reading over the last year.
