LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Oldham County Board of Education will hold a special meeting next month to adopt an increased tax rate.
The board met Wednesday night to discuss the rate, which would bring in 4% more revenue. That's the most allowed under state law without putting the increase on the ballot for voters.
The proposal would raise the district's real and personal property tax rate from 81.2 cents to 82 cents per $100 of assessed value, which is an increase of 0.8 cents.
The rate has not increased since the 2022-23 school year.
"This proposed adjustment supports the district's continued commitment to providing high-quality educational programs and services for our students and families," the district said on social media.
The special meeting will be held Sept. 14.
