LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A video circulating on social media has prompted an outcry among parents at a Kentucky middle school.
They're upset about alleged racism targeting black students at College View Middle School in Owensboro, Ky., according to a report from WFIE in Evansville, Ind.
This comes after a video on social media showed a student at the school saying the "N-word"and pretending to use a whip.
One parent also said her daughter has repeatedly been the target of racial slurs at the school. Parents say they've tried reporting these incidents to the school with no response.
One parent wants to make sure the school and students get the message of how hurtful those words and actions can be for middle school children.
In a written statement, officials with Daviess County Public Schools said the district strongly condemns all forms of racism, discrimination and bias.
The district also says it's working to investigate any reports of behavior infractions.
