LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students at St. James Catholic School in Louisville are getting a taste of what it is like in the broadcasting world.
Thanks to a grant from the Catholic Education Foundation and the Davidson Family Foundation, the school now has a new video production studio. It's complete with modern camera equipment, teleprompters, sound mixers and editing equipment.
The students can now get a first hand look at what it is like to work in media - more than just classroom experience said principal Gregg Boehmer.Â
"The fact that you can be on screen, you can be behind the cameras, taking care of sets, working on scripts, putting together backgrounds - it really caters to students of all personalities," Gregg said.Â
In addition to training students on the technical aspects of TV media, the studio students will also work on developing skills like writing and speaking.
