LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Students in the Shelby Park neighborhood have a new place to turn to for help.
The city of Louisville announced it will bring The Book Works to the Shelby Park Community Center.
The nonprofit offers tutoring and mental health support for middle and high school-aged kids.
Officials said the new location will help build confidence, close learning gaps and strengthen their paths forward in school.
"This partnership strengthens what this center offers the neighborhood by bringing high-quality, one-on-one academic and mentoring services directly into the heart of the community," said Michelle King, director of Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation.
The Book Works program was originally in the Beechmont Community Center but relocated to the Shelby Park Community Center.
