Elizabethtown Police Jamie Land is retiring from the department on June 1, 2019.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Elizabethtown is looking for a new police chief. 

Chief Jamie Land has announced that he's retiring on June 1. He joined the department in 1998 as a patrol officer. 

He was appointed to chief in 2017.

Elizabethtown Police Chief Jamie Land joined the department in 1998, and was appointed chief in 2017.

The mayor's office says it's in the process of forming a committee to interview potential replacements.

There's no timetable set for naming a new chief.
