Meade County Jailer J.J. Scarborough

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Meade County Ethics Commission found this week that Jailer JJ Scarborough violated standards of conduct after the former jail made a complaint that Scarborough abused the public trust.

Former Jailer Troy Seelye accused Scarborough of abuse of giving an employee unmerited raises. The complaint officially accused him of improper use of public funds, abuse of power and conflict of interest.

Seelye, who lost the election to Scarborough in 2014, said he came forward with information because it affects taxpayers.

Scarborough said the allegations against him are false and that more information will come out.

The ethics commission said even though Scarborough violated the Standards of Conduct, it didn't issue a civil penalty or letter of reprimand.
