LEBANON JUNCTION, Ky. (WDRB) -- It has been seven long years since Rhonda Day was last seen, but her family refuses to give up hope.

Day was last seen on July 28, 2018, on Marie Anna Drive in the Pleasure Ridge Park area. Her blue Chevy Aveo was found abandoned about a mile away on Cane Run Road. Since then, there’s been no trace of her.

"Faith has got us through," said Melissa Fenley, Day’s aunt. "And no matter the outcome, our faith is still going to sustain us."

Fenley and the rest of Day's family has remained vocal throughout the years, pushing for renewed attention on the case. Fenley said she recently contacted the Louisville Metro Police detective assigned to the case to urge continued efforts.

"I did call the detective and told the detective we were doing an interview, and that it might be a good time for him to start questioning some people again," she said. "And he said he’s been working on that."

LMPD confirms Day's case is still considered open and active with its Missing Persons Unit.

But for the family, time has only deepened the pain.

"The things that bother you most is the unknown, the everyday," Fenley said. "You think, what happened to her? Did she suffer? Is she alive? Is she not? And you can just drive yourself crazy by the 'what ifs.' Those are the hard things."

Still, they hold out hope that someone — somewhere — knows something.

"After seven years, sometimes you think you’re not going to get them," Fenley said. "But I still think there’s somebody out there that knows. I still believe that sometime, someday we’re going to find out some kind of answer."

Anyone with information about Rhonda Day’s disappearance is urged to call the LMPD tip line at (502) 574-LMPD. Callers can remain anonymous.
