LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) ā The FBI is investigating a recent cyberattack in Jackson County, Indiana.
According to a news release Monday, portions of the county's computer network were involved in a cyberattack. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said officials "began coordinating with state and federal partners to ensure systems remain secure and operational."
Officials said there's no indication any hardware, data or taxpayer funds were lost or compromised.
It's unclear how long the county was impacted by the cyberattack and if anything was knocked out during it.
The incident is under investigation by the FBI, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Indiana Department of Homeland Security, along with Jackson County officials.
"Jackson County is blessed to have good leaders and great local, state and federal partners to help work through crises such as a cyber threat," Jackson County Commissioner Drew Storey said in a news release. "This time we havenāt lost any hardware, data or taxpayer funds. Jackson County will continue protecting our communities and families in the way they have come to expect."
