LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — No one was hurt after a house fire in Louisville's Iroquois neighborhood early Saturday morning.

Donovan Sims, a spokesperson for Louisville Fire Department, said crews responded to a reported fire at in the 1300 block of Walter Avenue around 5:46 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from a one-story house. 

Sims said it took 24 firefighters about 12 minutes to get the fire under control, and the fire was confined to the front of room of the house.

Investigators said the fire started from a Coleman camp stove being used for heating after the resident returned to the home after a long period away to find the electricity shut off. The resident left briefly and returned to find smoke coming from the home.
