LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 164th Annual St. Joseph Orphans Picnic will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, from noon to midnight. There will be for fun, games, the famous fried chicken dinner and lots of other yummy things to eat.

The picnic is the largest single fundraiser for St. Joe's, and all proceeds benefit the children in our care. Applebee's has been a long-time sponsor of food for the picnic and regularly brings 50-70 volunteers to help with food service throughout the day.

They are returning again and will be partnering this year with St. Joe's chef, Finbar Kinsella (formerly of Lilly's) and Dean Corbett (of Corbett's and Equus) to help make the famous chicken dinner.

Friday Night Live is on Friday, Aug. 9, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. There will be live music and many of the picnic booths will be open, including the fish and bratwurst booth. In the event of rain, Friday Night Live will be canceled.

The picnic is made possible each year through the support of hundreds of volunteers, donors, and sponsors.
