JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Those battling cancer in southern Indiana officially have a new place to find support.

Gilda's Club cut the ribbon to celebrate the grand opening of its new facility in Jeffersonville Tuesday morning.

"Gilda's Clark" is located on King Road. The center will provide social and emotional support to adults and children fighting cancer.

"We want to meet people where they are," said Karen Morrison, president and CEO of Gilda's Club Kentuckiana. "When cancer is a part of someone's life, there's usually a lot of chaos with that, so the more accessible our services are the better."

Gilda's Club will open another southern Indiana location on Oct. 8 in New Albany.

The organization has served over 20,000 people fighting over 60 different types of cancer.
