LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- AmeriPro Health is expanding its services in Kentucky.

AmeriPro announced Monday that it has been awarded a 5-year contract to provide emergency services in Henry County starting March 1.

The deal was unanimously approved by board members of the Henry County Ambulance Taxing District. 

In a news release Monday morning, the board said it believes the new contract "serves the best interests of our community."

"We were impressed by AmeriPro's intricate understanding of the key issues and nuances connected to emergency response in our community, as well as the proactive solutions they brought to the table," Jim Willhite, chairman of the Henry County Ambulance Taxing District Board, said in Monday's release.

AmeriPro will provide an advanced life support unit and a basic life support unit Monday through Friday. 

The previous EMS provider in Henry County was Baptist Health.
