Officials with TRIMARC said they saw a lot of crashes Wednesday because drivers in Louisville weren't respecting the ice.
According to a news release from the governor's office, Kentucky Emergency Management activated its State Emergency Operations Center Wednesday morning.
The declaration is for harsh weather that hit the state from Feb. 8 to Feb. 19, including an ice storm that left more than 154,000 customers without electricity.
