LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has asked a judge to force the city of New Albany to stop work on the Silver Creek Dam.
WDRB reported earlier this week that the city was dumping rocks at the dam, calling it emergency maintenance in the name of safety.
But the state's DNR said the city doesn't have the proper permits. Now, it is asking for a Temporary Restraining Order to stop the work being done and to remove the rock that has already been dumped.
DNR officials said work like this can cause issues up and down stream.
A judge has yet to rule on the TRO request.
