LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — As the season of giving continues, many Jefferson County Public Schools families are feeling the warmth of the holidays.
JCPS's Clothing Assistance Program, also known as CAP, opened its warehouse Saturday for around 250 families.
The pre-registered families were able to pick out donated jackets, toiletries, toys, and make-up, all to help fill the needs many of these families have.
The program is available throughout the year, but it's in high demand the most around the holidays.
"We provide for any JCPS student who is in need, and we also have social workers within the schools who the family resource folks who come in and they gather items so that they have things within the school for anybody that needs them," Amy Nguyen, volunteer, said.
Other items that were provided included shoes, dresses and socks, and many of the items were brand new.
