LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Jefferson County property owners have just days left to appeal their 2026 property reassessments before the May 18 deadline.
The Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator said reassessment notices were mailed April 24 for properties in Areas 8 and 9, including areas in and around Prospect, Norton Commons, Glenview, Graymoor-Devondale, Anchorage, Lyndon, Hurstbourne, Douglass Hills, Middletown, Lake Forest and Polo Fields.
The reassessments come as some homeowners reported property value increases ranging from 25% to 50%.
Property owners whose values changed received a full-color postcard with a photo of the property and information about the appeals process. Updated property values were also posted online April 24 on the Jefferson County PVA website.
The first step in the appeal process is completing the PVA Online Conference, which remains open until 4 p.m. May 18.
While most appeals are handled online, the PVA said staff are also available to help property owners in person or by phone.
In-person appeal assistance is being offered at the Southwest and South-Central library branches weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 18.
Appointments are also available at the PVA office at 815 W. Market St., Suite 400, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 18, along with hours on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Property owners can reserve an appointment or telephone conference by calling 502-574-6224.
