LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Another closure is coming for the Kennedy Bridge.

State transportation officials said Interstate 65 South will be temporarily closed overnight Friday, Jan. 9, to continue the bridge expansion joint replacement project.

The closure will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10.

The closure will affect all lanes of I-65 South just past Exit 1 to U.S. 31 South (Stansifer Avenue/10th Street) in Jeffersonville.

Drivers can detour by taking Interstate 265 West to Interstate 64 East to reconnect with I-65 South.

After this and another overnight closure, crews will begin the next phase of the project. That phase will replace expansion joints in the left three lanes as work will move to the left side of the bridge.
