LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky U.S. Congressman Morgan McGarvey has launched his 2024 reelection campaign.

McGarvey, a Democrat, made the announcement Thursday. He represents the state's Third Congressional District, which includes most of Louisville. 

The congressman promises to continue working for Kentucky, fighting for common sense gun safety laws, cementing women's rights into federal law, and providing for working families.

"I'm not done yet. Things in Washington can be chaotic, but I still believe in the promise of the institution, and I know that when we work together in a bipartisan fashion, we can make a difference for the American people," McGarvey said in a news release Thursday. 

McGarvey has been serving in the House of Representatives since last year. Before that, he was a Kentucky state senator.
