LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky's death toll from last month's deadly winter storm has risen to 22.Ā 

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said during his Team Kentucky Update on Thursday that a 92-year-old man from Hart County, 69-year-old woman from Madison County, 59-year-old man from Hardin County, 77-year-old man from Grayson County, 79-year-old from Floyd County and a 68-year-old man from Leslie County all died due to theĀ winter storm.

In addition, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg's Office confirmed a second person in Louisville died due to being out in the cold weather.Ā The Jefferson County Coroner's Office in Louisville previously said 56-year-old Ricky Marshall died fromĀ hypothermia.

To help the families of those who died, Beshear said previously the Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund will be reopened, which will provide $10,000 to each family for funeral expenses.

The winter storm moved through Kentucky Jan. 23-26, 2026, dumping nine inches of snow in some areas, significant ice accumulation and bitter cold temperatures.Ā 

Beshear said some areas in Kentucky have seen up to 26 inches of snow this winter.Ā
