LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local hero served as the Grand Marshal in the Oldham County Day Parade Saturday.
LMPD officer Nick Wilt was shot in the head while responding to the mass shooting at Old National Bank in April 2023. Nick continues to recover and, although his progress is slow, he remains dedicated.
On Saturday, he waved to hundreds of people during an annual parade in La Grange.Â
Since early 2024, Nick has walked independently with the assistance of a cane, but since September, he has rarely needed it.
