LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- October is Filipino American History Month, so a celebration was held in Louisville on Sunday.
The Louisville Filipino American Appreciation Festival was hosted the Asia Institute Crane House. There was food vendors, games, live dance performances and music at Central Park in Old Louisville.
People who attended the event hope it continues annually.
"We hope that this will be an annual event for the city of Louisville," said Gemma Fetalver, senior production assistant for Gemma Fetalver, senior production assistant for Cultura Philippines. "There are thousands of Filipino Americans in our community and beyond Jefferson County so we would hope that we could bring people together every year."
The family-friendly event was free to attend.
