LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Louisville Fire Department responded to a reported residential fire in the 3200 block of Lexington Road, across from Sacred Heart Academy, Tuesday afternoon.
Fire units were dispatched to 3222 Lexington Rd. at approximately 4:12 p.m. after reports of smoke coming from the residence.
Crews arrived on the scene and encountered heavy smoke coming from the second floor and eaves of the two-story home.
About 30 firefighters and a staff officer responded, bringing the fire under control by 4:50 p.m. Crews used multiple hoses to contain the flames to the area where they started.
No injuries were reported. Officials said the home was "in the process of being occupied" at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
