LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County residents can now apply for electric assistance through the Louisville Metro Office of Social Services.
Kentucky households can qualify for a one-time electric benefit through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Spring Subsidy Cooling Component. Applications open April 15 and go until May 30 on a first-come, first-served basis.
The spring subsidy is designed to help households with incomes up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines to offset their cooling costs. The benefit is paid directly to a household's electricity vendor.
Residents can call the automated LIHEAP information line at (502) 991-8391 or click here to schedule an appointment.
