LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police and Metro Council are partnering to shut down massage parlors that don’t have a license.
A new multi-agency task force includes LMPD, the Alcoholic Beverage Control board, code enforcement, and the city's health department.
The group is working on new rules to stop fraudulent businesses and protect the community.
"Criminal investigations alone aren’t enough," said officer Dan Mardsen. "We need a collaborative, multi-pronged approach."
The strategy includes partnering with landlords, keeping them informed and gaining their support.
The goal is to use laws, fines, and other measures to shut down illegal massage businesses and keep the community safe.
