LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police said a missing 10-year-old girl was found safe at a gas station nearly seven hours after she was last seen Wednesday.

According to an Operation Return Home, Jeniya Gill was last seen between 4:30-4:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 29th Street and West Broadway.

She was found safe at a Valero gas station in the 1400 block of West Broadway around 11:20 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in an update. That's several blocks east from where she was last seen.

No additional information was provided.

LMPD held a brief news conference around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday about her disappearance.

Lt. Les Skaggs, commander of the LMPD Missing Persons Unit, said she was last seen on Broadway, near 28th and 29th streets, between 4:30-4:45 p.m.

Skaggs said LMPD was notified about her disappearance at 6:30 p.m. The Missing Persons Unit was called in around 7 p.m. and issued the Operation Return Home.

"All available LMPD personnel are in the area actively searching for this juvenile," he said. "We don't have any further information about where she's been since 4:30 or 4:45 this afternoon, we are asking for the public's help."

Skaggs added that there was not any indication that she had been abducted, so an Amber Alert was not issued.
