Lt. Gov.: Every Kentuckian will get the resources they need

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman vowed to get each Kentuckian impacted by tornadoes the help they need in the coming weeks.

"I do know with every hour that passes, the death toll is rising," Coleman said on WDRB in the Morning Sunday.

She talked about small towns and rural areas getting help after a devastating tornado ripped through Kentucky.

"We want to make sure that our fellow Kentuckians have the resources that they need. The governor and I truly believe that your zip code should not determine your opportunity or your access," she said.

She said because people are away from big cities, it doesn't mean resources aren't available for them too.

On Sunday, Coleman visited Muhlenberg and Ohio counties. In Muhlenberg County, 12 people were confirmed dead as of Sunday.

"That is a massive number of people for such a small community, she said.

"I will be there making sure that we have the resources on the ground that we need to survey the damage and to make sure no matter where you’re from or how populated or unpopulated your town is, we are getting you the help that you need."
