LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A male was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car.
Officers were called to the 900 block of Baxter Avenue around 2:15 a.m. on a report that a pedestrian had been hit, according to LMPD's Dwight Mitchell.
Once on scene, police found a male who had been hit after trying to cross Baxter Avenue, not in a crosswalk.
Mitchell said the vehicle was traveling northbound on Baxter Avenue when it hit the male, who was traveling westbound and crossing over from Morton Avenue.
The male was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Mitchell said all parties remained on scene.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation, due to the severity of the male's injuries.
