LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man who was found shot outside Greenwood Elementary Friday afternoon died at the hospital.
It happened just after 12:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Greenwood Road, in the city's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood, according to a news release from LMPD. That's where officers from the Third Division were sent on reports of a motor vehicle collision at that location.
However, when police arrived at the scene they found a man in a vehicle with "an apparent gunshot wound." EMS responded and took the man to UofL Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A WDRB photojournalist captured images from the scene that show the vehicle with both doors open near a utility pole in a grassy area of the school's parking lot.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting as a murder, but has no suspects and has made no arrests.
