LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was hit by a car and killed Monday night while attempting to cross Interstate 264.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. between the Bells Lane and Dumesnil Street exits.
Officers believe the man was walking in the interstate for an "unknown reason" when he was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound. Ellis said the driver stopped and called for EMS, who arrived to the scene quickly. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver wasn't hurt but requested to be taken to an area hospital to be checked out.
No charges are expected to be filed, according to Ellis, and LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
