LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As fall arrives, monarchs will be looking to fly south for the winter but on Saturday, a festival was held in their honor.
The Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana helped put on the Monarch Fest at MountFest.
The third annual event featured 80 artists, a butterfly experience, food trucks, a beer and wind garden and much more.
It took place at the 400-acre Mt. Saint Francis Center in Floyds Knobs which combines nature, spirituality and art programs.
"It's really important to have theater programs in Southern Indiana and art programs because it is such a great outlet for kids and it is a great release and it's so very important for the community," Paige Trinkle, with the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana, said.
Proceeds for Saturday's festival benefits programs and activities went toward Mt. Saint Francis Earth Care Arts Initiatives and the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana.
