LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested Friday in connection with a 2025 shooting in Old Louisville.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police Department, said officers responded to a reported shooting Sept. 15, 2025, in the 800 block of South 4th Street just after 2:30 p.m.

According to police, officers found one man inside the building and another outside, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said both victims were taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ellis said Saturday that 21-year-old Marcus Dunning Jr. was arrested in connection with the shooting.

According to court documents, Dunning shot a man in the face, legs, shoulder and left hand.

Police said investigators found two bags of suspected fentanyl and another baggie containing suspected marijuana at the scene.

Dunning was charged with assault, possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and trafficking in a controlled substance.

He appeared in court Saturday where a bond was set at $50,000. Dunning has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday, May 26.
