LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person is dead after being ejected from a motorcycle in Jackson County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Jackson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 66-year-old Kim Kaufman from Vallonia, Indiana.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, officers responded to a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. of a motorcycle crash involving "serious injury."

The crash happened near County Road 300 East and Country Road 300 South, just east of Brownstown Township.

Officers believe Kaufman was traveling westbound on Country Road 300 South on a silver 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Kaufman first passed a passenger car, that was also traveling westbound, and then attempted to pass a dump truck when they lost control.
