LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died Wednesday after a motorcycle crash near Louisville's Bashford Manor neighborhood on Saturday.
According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, officers responded to a "serious injury" crash around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday on Bardstown Road at Tyler Lane.
A witness told officers that a motorcycle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on Bardstown Road when it ran the red light at Tyler Lane.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and was hit by a car that was traveling eastbound on Tyler Lane.
He was transported to University Hospital with critical injuries, according to Mitchell.
The man died from his injuries on Wednesday and was identified as 42-year-old Michael Mooreland, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
