LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Muhammad Ali's childhood home opens today as a museum.
The pink home on Grand Avenue was home to the Clay family where young Cassius shared a room with his brother.
It cost $300,000 to turn the home into an interactive museum.
The home next door also received a makeover to serve as a gift shop and place to buy tickets.
"If you see the photograph online 50 times a day and then you come here it won't have the same effect. But if you are here in person, there is a spirit to this house. There is a memory," said Evan Bochetto, curator for the museum.
The museum opens this morning at 10 a.m.
Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for children.
