LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's been nearly five years since a Louisville mother of two went missing, but Andrea Knabel's family continues searching for her.
Her father said recently a tip came in saying she might have been seen in the city's Portland neighborhood.
Knabel went missing in the morning hours of Aug. 13, 2019. Her last known location was near a family member's home in the Audubon Park area. The search to find her has included police, private investigators, K-9s, missing persons flyers and social media outreach. Through the years, many people have called in thinking they've seen Knabel, but none have revealed her whereabouts.
Before her disappearance, Knabel devoted time to searching for missing people as a volunteer for the Missing in America Network.
Just recently, Knabel's father said someone who knew her thought she may have been seen in Louisville's Portland neighborhood. But, so far, the searches have not turned up any information as to where Knabel might be or what may have happened.
"We had credible witness who knew Andrea give a high probability sighting at a specific place, on a specific street, in a specific area," said Mike Knabel, Andrea's father.
He said that was in the Portland neighborhood, but did not give an exact location.
Mike Knabel said every milestone without his daughter continues to be difficult and said he will not give up searching for her.
"Some people think that time will dissipate the feelings you have, but it doesn't," he said. "It tends to stay with you and it's a weight we carry while we're going about our daily business."
Andrea Knabel's sister, Erin, has started several social media groups dedicated to finding tips and answers.

Louisville Metro Police said it remains an open case and is "investigating any and all active leads surrounding this open/active missing person case."
