LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local gas station is making it easier to get a mammogram.

The Norton Cancer Institute Mobile Prevention Center will be parked at different Thorntons locations each day this week to offer mammograms and pap smears to women between the ages of 40 and 75. 

"If you have insurance we have to bill your insurance company. If you don't have insurance, don't let that be a deterrent. Come on out we have financial aid forms for you to fill out and we will get you taken care of," Nurse Practitioner Janel Willingham said.

The initiative is funded by a $100,000 grant from Thornton's and the company plans to continue partnering with Norton Cancer Institute to offer this program in the future. 

The mobile unit will at the following locations from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on these dates:

  • October 14 - 10320 Westport Road
  • October 15 - 11700 Dixie Highway
  • October 16 - 9200 Preston Highway
  • October 17 - 8405 National Turnpike
