LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People were living on the edge in downtown Louisville on Saturday for a good cause.
Down Syndrome of Louisville and Critically Loved held Rappel for a Reason. Participants could take part on an individual basis or as a team rappelling down five stories.
For $75, participants were harnessed up and backed off the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, a 60-foot distance.
It was a fundraiser some people couldn't pass up.
"We have been invited by Hillerich and Bradsby to be at the Slugger Museum and come down the wall next to this iconic bat so people are repelling down this really fun wall," said Julie Torzewski with Down Syndrome of Louisville.
Participants also received a t-shirt, photo of them rappelling and a mini Louisville Slugger bat.
Funds raised for the event support the local nonprofit, which provides developmental and educational programs for people with Down syndrome in 24 counties around Kentuckiana, along with nonprofit Critically Loved.Â
