LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After a Corydon Central High School student was killed last month at Harvest Homecoming, a proposal was made to rename the football stadium after him.
Bryce Gerlach was an innocent bystander when he was shot and killed in a shooting at the annual fall festival in New Albany. Gerlach was a senior and played football for Corydon Central.
A Change.org petition was created asking the stadium to ensure his legacy. It has more than 3,700 signatures.
School district officials said it is up to the school board to consider the renaming the stadium, but, per policy, it must wait at least three years after a person dies to be considered.
