LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tuesday night is the deadline for Kentuckians to apply for a mail-in ballot for the 2023 general election.

Voters have until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday to request an absentee ballot.

Kentucky voters can cast their ballot in three other ways:

  • Excused in-person absentee voting Oct. 25-27, Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 1
  • In-person, no-excuse absentee voting Nov. 2-4
  • In-person voting on Election Day, Nov. 7

Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams is encouraging more voters to take advantage of the early, in-person voting option.

"I want to strongly encourage voters to use the early voting," Adams said. "Right now, only 15% of voters use that. I'd love to see that go higher because that helps preclude lines on Election Day if more voters vote early and we smooth that out."

On Election Day, Nov. 7, polls will be open across Kentucky from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
