LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie has remarried following the death of his wife last June.
Massie announced the news on his Facebook page Monday, with a photo of himself and his new wife Carolyn Moffa on their wedding day.
The Fourth District congressman said the two were wed Oct. 19 on a farm in Carolyn's home state of Pennsylvania.
"Carolyn Grace Moffa and I first met professionally over a decade ago when she worked for Senator Rand Paul. As Senator Paul's Ag policy staffer until 2016, Carolyn was a very early proponent and practitioner of Making America Healthy Again," Massie wrote. "She even visited me and my late wife Rhonda on our grass-fed cattle farm several years ago."
Massie's wife of 31 years, Rhonda, died in June of 2024.
"Yesterday my high school sweetheart, the love of my life for over 35 years, the loving mother of our 4 children, the smartest kindest woman I ever knew, my beautiful and wise queen forever, Rhonda went to Heaven. Thank you for your prayers for our family in this difficult time," Massie said in a social media post announcing her death.
Massie represents Kentucky's Fourth District, which includes Oldham, Spencer, Shelby, Trimble, Nelson, Carroll, Owen and other counties. He was first elected to the seat in 2012.
