LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) --Â The potential names for the Louisville Zoo's new zebra have been narrowed to three out of nearly 5,000 submitted.
The female Hartmann's mountain zebra was born back in January.
One name suggested was from the character Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence plays in The Hunger Games -- Katniss. The other two names are from the TV show NCIS -- Abby and Ziva.
Now through Sunday, June 23, guests can vote for their favorite name by donating money at the voting kiosk on the zoo's front plaza. The name with the highest total donations wins. The proceeds go to care for the animals and other zoo expenses.
The announcement of the new name will come the week of June 24.  The grand prize winner will receive gifts from the zoo along with a tote bag from Floyd Memorial Birthing Center, four adventure tickets, and a behind-the-scenes tour and "bonding session" with the zebra for as many as five persons. Â
Runner-up prizes include zoo gifts, the tote bag, and four adventure tickets.
